Beware of scammers posing as CRA agents
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) continues to notice telephone scams where the caller claims to be from the CRA but is not. Canadians should know these calls are not from the CRA and could result in identity theft and financial fraud.
When the CRA calls a taxpayer, it follows established procedures to make sure the taxpayer’s personal information is protected. To learn more, visit the CRA’s website.
If you receive a call from the CRA and want to confirm that it is legitimate, check MyAccount on the CRA’s website or call the CRA. The number for calls about individual concerns is 1-800-959-8281. The number for business-related calls is 1-800-959-5525.
